SUPPLEMENTAL OXYGEN (O2) REQUIREMENTS

For Part 91 general aviation operations, including skydiving, flight crews and passengers (skydivers) aboard unpressurized aircraft must use supplemental oxygen for the entire duration of flight above a cabin pressure altitude of 13,999 feet MSL, as mandated by 14 CFR § 91.211.

Fyrosity® proudly offers the highest tandem skydive in Las Vegas, made possible by the lower elevation above sea level of our airport. While some operators and third-party resellers may present misleading claims about jump altitudes to secure sales, no other skydiving operation in Las Vegas can truly match our tandem skydiving altitude. We prioritize transparency and delivering an unparalleled experience to our customers.

MSL VS. AGL

Understanding MSL (Mean Sea Level) and AGL (Above Ground Level) is essential for skydiving. Aircraft altitudes are measured in MSL to ensure safe separation, while skydivers focus on AGL to gauge height above the ground.

Jump altitude depends on the elevation of the airport and parachute landing area (PLA). Fyrosity® operates from Overton Municipal Airport, the lowest-elevated airport in Nevada at 1,365 feet MSL. We take first time jumpers up to 13,999 feet MSL, the maximum allowed without supplemental oxygen under FAA regulations (14 CFR § 91.211) and up to 15,000ft with O2 if available. Subtracting the airport’s elevation, this equates to a jump height of 12,634 feet AGL.

13,999 MSL – 1,365 MSL = 12,634 AGL

Some U.S. operators offer tandem jumps up to 18,000 or even 41,000 feet with mandatory O2, but no skydiving operation in Las Vegas provides such jumps. Refer to the chart comparing local airport elevations to make an informed choice!
