Learn to skydive and become a USPA A-licensed skydiver at Skydive Fyrosity®! Exilerate℠ Skydiving School in Las Vegas offers 4 different training programs to get you started. Each skydive training program is vastly different from the other utilizing completely different training methods.
The Tandem Progression (TP) training program is a basic first step introduction to basic skills and drills. It provides the skydiving student with an opportunity to learn some of the basics in skydiving. The skydive student will learn to properly exit the aircraft, basic freefall position, altitude awareness, parachute deployment, canopy control and landing patterns with minimal training. The skydiving student will perform the assignments while attached to the instructor and will benefit from the immediate “in action” training instructions from the instructor while performing them! The Tandem Progression training program is perfect for students who want to try to learn the basics and to determine if skydiving is for them without spending a lot of money and time.
The Integrated Student Program (ISP) differs from the Tandem Progression training program in many ways. The students in the ISP program are required to perform everything on their own without and instructor attached to them or directly supervising or instructing the student under canopy. The major difference is that the student does not perform any Tandem training and does not have any freefall or canopy assistance during the jumps from the instructor. After a short ground training the skydive student will be jumping on their own and will be required to perform everything alone. The ISP program was originally developed in the early 1960s and it was designed more for military jump operations, where the student jumps from lower altitudes of 2500 – 3500 ft and the parachute is deployed immediately (no freefall) by a line attached to the aircraft or held by the instructor. The ISP program is very limited and does not provide enough training nor it meets the requirements set by USPA to obtain your A-License. Additional training and jump are required if the student is to pursue USPA A-License.
The Accelerated Free Fall (AFF) skydive training program was originally developed in the early 1980s and it was revolutionary training method at that time. The AFF program is designed to take the skydiving student in free fall after short 6 – 8 hours of ground school. AFF is performed with 2 instructors holding on to the skydiving student in free fall, while the student is performing the assigned tasks. Once the parachute is open the AFF student is on their own. The AFF program differs from both the TP and the ISP in many ways and while less costly than the Advanced Skydive Training (AST) Program up front, it ends up costing more on the long run. AFF graduates do NOT meet the requirements set by USPA to obtain their A-License upon completion of the 8 jumps in the AFF training. USPA requires 25 jumps and very specific tasks and training that must be completed and signed by an AFF instructor to issue a license. AFF students graduates are also limited in their ability to jump with other skydivers or to jump at other Drop Zones after they complete the 8 jumps. To jump with other skydivers or other Drop Zones, a student must have USPA A-License issued. Since the introduction of the AFF Program in the 80s, skydiving has advanced leaps and bounds and in order for a student to be knowledgeable, safe, up to standards on modern day skydiving as of 2021, much more training and knowledge is needed. AFF alone is not enough. Unites States Parachute Association (USPA) has recognized the need for the additional training and has created high standards of required training that must be met in order to issue a USPA A-License.
The Advanced Skydive Training Program (AST) by Exilerate℠ is the most advanced skydive training program to date, exclusively offered at Skydive Fyrosity®! The AST Program has been written and developed over the last 35 years by some of the finest, most experienced and most forward-thinking Eastern European and American skydiving instructors. The AST Program combines TP, ISP and AFF training into one along with extensive additional training and knowledge not available via any other program. The AST Program has evolved into the most progressive curriculum used in skydive student training today. The AST Program meets and far exceeds USPA’s requirements for USPA A-License, thus producing more competent, knowledgeable, well trained and confident skydivers. Unlike with any other skydive training programs, the AST graduates excel in all aspects of the sport becoming National and World Champions. The AST Program is a One-on-One Training method designed and tailored specifically for each individual student to accommodate each student’s level of learning, comfort, mental ability and understanding of the AST Program while working at the student’s pace and availability. This program is for the serious and committed skydiving students looking to learn, expand and enjoy a long and lasting skydiving career.
